Recordings Series 2: UK Politics Revision Webinars with Essay Practice 2024 (4 online lessons and slides)
This series is now complete. You can watch all 4 session recordings.
What is this about? This is the second series of my popular UK Politics revision webinar in the lead-up to the exams. The idea is to spend two lessons out of four working on a single topic (e.g. parties) and help students answer some of the common essay questions. The focus is on essay questions, and through this, we shall extract valuable essay writing skills, including analysis, examples and structure.
We should cover many essays in detail and some in note form.
Suitable for Edexcel and AQA

Why? Often, students in their second year do not give enough time to UK year one content revision. Many have forgotten valuable content AND some may not have had enough essay practice (source and non-source). Additionally, two of your exams (if you study Edexcel) and a major emphasis (for AQA) are based on UK content.
Also, too many students leave revision to after Easter. This is not a great idea; better to pace yourself now with realistic small steps. This webinar will help you do just that.
I feel I need help and motivation with politics. Will this help? YES! I believe these sessions will motivate you and make relearning the content interesting.
Who is this for? It is mainly for year two (year 13) students who are preparing for summer exams, but often, year 12 students also participate and find it useful as a way of consolidating content.
How will these sessions work? The approach of this series is to take a topic in turn and work through the content, examples and analysis to build confidence and resilience to a topic.
Is there homework? Yes. To take full advantage of this series over the coming months, you have to write the essays we work on in the week after the session. This helps consolidate the content learnt.
How do we log in to the session? The sessions will take place every week live, and you will be sent a unique login link
What will it cover? I shall review all of the UK Politics and Government topics for Edexcel and AQA. This session will not cover political ideas and global/US politics.
Here’s a schedule (subject to some change)
January - Parties and Democracy
February - Electoral Systems and the Media
March - Constitution and Relations between Branches
April - Parliament and Prime Minister (we shall keep these topics to the end because it is subject to the greatest political updates)
How do I pay for the sessions? There will be blocks consisting of 4 lessons. We shall try to get through two topics (e.g. parties and democracy) per block. You pay for the 4-week block in advance on my site.
What’s the cost? Four lessons will cost £25. This includes PowerPoint and material. This is a far more cost-effective way to revise, and I have kept costs to a minimum to facilitate as many students as possible.
Is there a capacity? From experience last year, I know the demand is very high, so there will be a strict first come, first serve basis. If you can no longer pay on my site, it’s because capacity has been reached.
Will you be hosting in-person revision conferences in May? Yes, I will – more information will be available on my site; follow my newsletter https://www.alevelpolitics.com/subscribe
Will we be able to view recordings of this session? Yes, but you must turn up live to take advantage of it.
What did students say last year? I helped over 2000 students last year; here is a little of what they told me:
Signing up was the best decision I have made for my politics grade! - Salma
Very helpful - the amount of examples used is extremely useful in planning essays - Alfie
Amazing and really useful – Luisa
I found the sessions really useful! It has helped me get better at exam techniques and be on top of the current examples. I used to get Cs before and now I am at A! – Vanshika
Extremely useful, my grade his increased and become much more consistent – Casey
Really helpful and cleared up my knowledge, feel a lot more confident about politics – Michaela
Really really useful! It’s fairly informal, which makes it less scary to ask any and every question (you’re not condescending like some teachers at school), and you’re resources are so useful. I also love the extra knowledge and facts - Adchaya
Really useful and enjoyable – Niamh
Extremely helpful and useful as they are very targeted and give structure to how I should revise – Minna
